Understanding Excel's Status Bar
The meaning of the Status Bar is the horizontal section at the bottom of the Excel worksheet or screen which functions to show or display information related to the status of the Excel program or worksheet that is currently active.

The following is an explanation of some of the
sections on the Status Bar.
Ready, Edit and Enter Mode
On the left side of the status bar, when you open a new file for the first time there is the text “ READY " which indicates that Excel is ready to use.
As soon as you type something into a cell the text will change to “ ENTER ".
If you hover over the formula bar or double click on a cell, the text in the excel status bar will change to “ EDIT ".
Macro Recorder
Next to it you will find the Macro Recorder icon. This icon shows the status of recording macros that can be used to perform certain commands automatically. Related to this macro will be discussed in another section.
View Button Setting
On the right side there are 3 icons that we can use to
adjust how a worksheet will be displayed. These 3 icons have the same function
as the menu buttons in the “ Workbook Views " group which you can find on
the VIEW tab.
By default this option will be displayed as “ Normal ".
Zooming Settings
Next to the 3 icons, you will find a slider that functions to adjust the display size of the Excel worksheet or workspace.
When you click the 100% value next to the slider, the
zooming options window will appear as follows.
In the pop-up window, you can determine the amount of zoom view you want. By default the worksheet view area's zoom size is 100%.
Selected Cell / Range Statistical Information
If you select multiple cells / ranges, this excel
status bar will display additional information or statistical information
related to the range of cells that you selected as below.
Set the Information Displayed on the Excel Status Bar
Other information that will appear on this status bar
can also be adjusted by right clicking on the status bar then selecting which
information you want to display.
A check mark on the “ Customize Status Bar “ option window shows what information will be displayed on the status bar. Remove the check mark by clicking the associated menu to disable it.
